COACH / FOUNDER
JOHN HARRIS JR.
With a rich background in basketball and a passion for youth development, Coach Harris brings a unique blend of experience, expertise, and personal dedication to Prime Basketball Club.
Before launching Prime Basketball Club in 2023, Harris had the opportunity to serve as a graduate assistant for the Nebraska Huskers basketball program under coach Fred Hoiberg. During his time, he was involved in the day-to-day operations of the program from working out players to assisting in game day preparations with the scout team. It was during this period that he also pursued his passion for education, earning his master’s degree in youth development.

Before returning to his roots in Nebraska in 2019, Harris called Kansas City home where he dedicated two years to assisting with the MOKAN AAU Basketball program while also delving into personal training. Harris' collegiate journey began at Benedictine College, where he not only earned his undergraduate degree but also left a lasting mark on the court. Throughout his four years, he showcased his skills earning All-Heart of America Conference honors three times and demonstrating exceptional versatility with 1,282 career points, 412 assists, and 114 steals.

Harris' achievements extended beyond the collegiate realm. In high school at Lincoln High, he earned accolades such as All-City honors and second-team Class A all-state honors cementing his reputation as a talented player both on and off the court.
Outside of basketball, Harris is an avid traveler and food enthusiast. He enjoys exploring new cultures, trying different cuisines, and spending time with his dog, Max. Additionally, Harris leads a weekly Bible study with friends.
